2022 Was A Year Of Progress And Personal Growth:

CW: Depression

It is New Year’s eve here in the U.S. I want to reflect on this past year. My mental health improved greatly this year. Switching antidepressants this fall was the best decision I made all year. I am thankful for my medical team, family, and friends who were there for me throughout the year.

It is refreshing to be happy again. I enjoyed the holiday season for the first time in years. I made sugar cookies with my mom and Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer cookies. I was able to see my family as well, which is my favorite part of the holiday season. Everybody liked the gifts I gave them, which made me happy.

My younger sister graduated from high school in June. I enjoyed the celebrations my family had for her. I love celebrating special occasions with my family and friends. I was so proud to see her get her diploma. I can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in the future.

I pursued new educational opportunities this year. I completed a certificate program in digital marketing from Google. The program was engaging, and I learned a variety of different skills. I took a class on sports marketing from Northwestern University as well.

I plan to start another certificate program in a couple of weeks. This one will focus on social media marketing. Ultimately, I hope to pursue a career in marketing in the future. Some day I would like to work for a professional sports team.

I wrote on my blog regularly this year and reached more people than I ever thought I would. I was amazed and humbled to receive feedback on my writing from more than a dozen countries. I am so grateful for all of my readers. When I started my blog last summer, I never imagined it would reach thousands of people worldwide.

I also published two articles for other publications this year. I am thankful to Little Lobbyists and Easterseals for allowing me to share my writing with their communities. I hope to reach more people using my writing in 2023.

2022 was an excellent year overall. I am so glad to have found relief from depression. While I still have bad days, I feel much better than I used to. Depression is a challenge to live with. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. May 2023 bring good health and happiness to all of us.
